What registers do well
A bound attendance register is simple to train. Inspectors and long-serving staff often trust paper. For a single class with a stable teacher, the morning tick-box is fast.
What registers cannot do
They cannot notify a parent, produce a month-end report without counting, or share a fee receipt history without photocopying. They also do not prevent a second unofficial list on someone’s laptop.
How NotifyHub School relates
NotifyHub School replaces the daily operational register for attendance, and the informal fee notebook, with software the office and parents can both see. It does not claim to be a legal substitute for any register a board or trust still requires you to keep. If you must retain paper for compliance, treat the ERP as the operational system and ask your administrator what still needs printing.
If the next step is a spreadsheet rather than software, read school ERP vs Excel. If you are ready to evaluate a product, start with the school ERP overview.
Questions this guide answers
Do we have to throw away registers on day one?
No. Many schools run a short overlap. The ERP is useful as soon as teachers mark attendance digitally and parents can see it.
